Family Story  Time Rhymes 2013

 

1. Clap and Sing Hello!

(Tune: Farmer in the Dell)

We clap and sing hello,

We clap and sing hello,

With our friends at story time,

We clap and sing hello!

(Stomp and sing hello; wave and sing hello.)

 

2. The More We Read Together

The more we read together, together, together

The more we read together, the happier we’ll be

‘Cause your books are my books

And my books are your books

The more we read together, the happier we’ll be.

**We do sign language for more, read, together, happy, and book for this rhyme. I am working on a video to share with you so you can practice at home.

3. A is for Alligator

A is for Alligator chomp, chomp, chomp.

B is for bunny hop, hop, hop.

C is for circle, big and round.

D is for when we all sit down.

 

4. If You’re Ready

(Tune: If You’re Happy and You Know It)

If you’re ready for a story, take a seat **clap, clap**

Clap your hands and stomp your feet

Make your hands all nice and neat

5. Sometimes

Sometimes my hands are at my side

Sometimes behind my back they hide

Sometimes I wiggle my fingers so,

Shake them fast, shake them slow.

Sometimes my hands go

    clap, clap, clap,

Then I rest them in my lap.

Now they’re quiet as can be

Because it’s listening time, you see.

 

6. Wiggle Fingers

I wiggle my fingers.

I wiggle my toes.

I wiggle my shoulders.

I wiggle my nose.

Now all of my wiggles are out of me,

And I’m just as still as I can be.

 

 7. Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Point to appropriate body part

And eyes, and ears, and mouth, And nose.

8. The Beehive 

Here is a beehive (make a fist)

Where are the bees?

Hidden away where nobody sees.

Watch as they come out of their hive—

One, two, three, four, five,

         (extend fingers one at a time)

They’re alive! Buzzzzzz!

        (wiggle your fingers) 

 

 

9. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,

How I wonder what you are!

Up above the world so high,

Like a diamond in the sky!

10.  Flutter, Flutter Butterfly

 Flutter, flutter, butterfly.

Floating in the bright blue sky.

Floating by for all to see, Floating by so merrily.
