Rhymes

This is a list of rhymes I use in my preschool story times at the library. I usualy have laminated rhyme sheets for everyone. I change the rhymes as we get tired of them, usually its seasonally.

Hello to Friends
I say "hello" to friends at story time.
I'm as happy as can be.
They are my special story time friends.
I like them all you see.

Two Little
Two little feet go tap, tap, tap.
Two little hands go clap, clap, clap.
A quiet little leap up from my chair.
Two little arms reach high in the air.
Two little feet go jump, jump, jump.
Two little fists go thump, thump, thump.
One little person goes round and round.
And one little child sits quietly down.

My Wiggles
I wiggle my fingers.
I wiggle my toes.
I wiggle my shoulders.
I wiggle my nose.
Now all of my wiggles are out of me,
And I'm just as still as I can be.

Clap and Sing Hello!
(Tune: Farmer in the Dell)
We clap and sing hello,
We clap and sing hello,
With our friends at story time,
We clap and sing hello!
(Stomp and sing hello; wave and sing hello.)

The More We Read Together
The more we read together, together, together.
The more we read together, the happier we’ll be.
For your books are my books.
And my books are your books.
The more we read together, the happier we’ll be.
 *We do sign language to this song. We sign the following words: more, read, together, happy, books.

 A is for Alligator
A is for Alligator chomp, chomp, chomp.
B is for bunny hop, hop, hop.
C is for circle, big and round.
D is for when we all sit down.

Sometimes
Sometimes my hands are at my side
Sometimes behind my back they hide
Sometimes I wiggle my fingers so,
Shake them fast, shake them slow.
Sometimes my hands go

Then I rest them in my lap.
Now they’re quiet as can be
Because it’s listening time, you see.

Wiggle Fingers
I wiggle my fingers.

The Beehive
Here is a beehive (make a fist)
Where are the bees?
Hidden away where nobody sees.
Watch as they come out of their hive—
One, two, three, four, five,
(extend fingers one at a time)
They’re alive! Buzzzzzz!
(wiggle your fingers)

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky!

How I wonder what you are!

Flutter, Flutter Butterfly

Floating in the bright blue sky.
