Take Me Out to the Ball Game

One, Two, Three strikes you're out!!!
We enjoyed counting 5 baseballs after we listened to Hap Palmer's version of Take Me Out to the Ball Game. What a great way to incorporate numbers into our fun story time. Palmer helps us practice more and less with this super fun song.  (CD: Can A Jumbo Jet Sing the Alphabet)

Happy summer to everyone. We are at the half way point at my libraries and having a great summer. Our summer reading club is going strong and I am looking forward to fall, believe it or not.
I bet you all can believe it!
I hope you all enjoy my first FF Roundup :-)
Miss Angie

Library Quine at loonsandquines.blogspot.com shares adorably juice  Five Ripe Strawberries flannel.

I am honored to share Kathryn at kdr4xmom.blogspot.com and her  Hedgehog Fun. She said she was inspired by my Hedgehog Flannel I submitted a little while ago. Well I say great job to these adorable little creatures!!!

Sarah shares a  A Rainbow Horde of Dinosaurs at misssarahsstorytime.blogspot.com. Of course we all know that green dinosaurs only eat green foods! That's why they are so green, right?

Mrs. Lisa at lisaslibraryland.blogspot.com gives us sharks, and dinos, and shapes, and trucks....oh my!!! Her posts are inspired by fellow Flannelers. Miss Lisa shares some awesome ideas.

Thriveafterthree.com can't resist Pete the Cat and neither can we!!! Do we cry? Goodness no!! We keep on singing our song.

Bumpin' up and Down on My Little Red Wagon might be my most favorite story time song. Katie from storytimesecrets.blogspot.com combines numbers, colors, and this tune to create a portable activity. "Sailing out to sea on my number one sailboat" Very catchy tune!!!

Bridget at whatisbridgetreading.blogspot.com shares 5 Colorful Dinosaurs. You can never go wrong with adorable dinosaurs.

Megan from missmegsstorytime.com makes us walk the plank with her ARR! Pirate flannel.

Piperlovesthelibrary.blogspot.com shares Oh! David!  No, David. This creative flannel gives the famous David  from David Shannon's books emotions. Yes, movable eyebrows, and mouth. The drama, the trauma!!!

I am Miss Angie from mrsandreslibrary.blogspot.com. I am sharing a flannel inspired by loonsandquines.blogspot.com. Like Miss Meg I did Pirates this week. We had so much fun singing the "Pirate wore a *insert color*  patch" song. They especially loved when the pirate wore a pink patch. I did not hand out patches this time, too many little ones; I hung them myself.

We are the Dinosaurs

Who doesn't love Laurie Berkner's stomping good song We Are the Dinosaurs ? I love to play her song and march around the room and act out the words, especially the roar at the end.
This flannel is inspired by We Are the Dinosaurs.

In real life the dinosaurs are a beautiful purple / lavender color. They were made using an Accucut die cutter. We talk about the color and count the dinosaurs.

Piggie and Elephant

This is a paper bag craft that I have used in the past for my Crafty Fridays. I am planning to use them in a Piggie and Elephant story time and I thought they would be fun to share. Someday I may have to sew a piggie and elephant but for now the paperbags will do. A big thank you to Three Little Birds North for the idea and the templates!!

How Do Your Flowers Grow?

I will be using this flannel board in a S.T.E.M program I will be presenting. We will be talking about the parts of a flower: petals, stem, leaves, and roots. We will also talk about what a flower needs to grow: water, soil, and sunshine.

We will also be growing seeds in a CD case. I got this great idea from Pinterest. It was a pin from a very creative lady The Crafty Crow . I am super excited to do this program.

Dig It!

Close up of Mr. Mole.
Dig It
to the tune of row, row, row your boat

Dig, dig, dig the earth,
Deep down in the ground.
Dig up rock, dig up clay.
Pile in to a mound.

Dig, dig, dig the earth
Create a great big hole
Look inside. What do you see?
Oh look, there is a mole!

I created this fun rhyme for our library Summer Reading theme Dig in to Reading.

Four Little Bugs
One little bug went out to play,
On a spider's web one day.
He had ever so much fun,
He called for another bug to come.

Two little bugs went out to play,
On a spider's web one day.
They had ever so much fun.
They called for another bug to come.

Three little bugs went out to play,
On a spider's web one day.
They had ever so much fun.
They called for another bug to come.

Four little bugs went out to play,
On a spider's web one day.
they got stuck, all in a bunch.
And along came a spider, in time for lunch!!

What Can You Do With a Box?

Who doesn't love playing with a good old fashioned cardboard box. You know how it goes, you buy an amazing toy and all your little one wants is the box it came in. This storytime is celebrating the creativity that comes with playing with a cardboard box.

The simplicity of this board is....simply wonderful. I cut out 10 squares from a cardboard box and glued a magnet onto the back of each one.
First we count the boxes 1-10 then 10-1. Next I ask the children what shapes we can make with these boxes. I move the boxes around to make the creative shapes they come up with. After story time I leave the magnets out for the kiddos to play and explore on their own. They loved it!! Moms also loves it and some thought they would make their own set for home. I love to inspire :-)

Five Little Hedgehogs

A Flannel Board Poem:
This is an older post that I am re-sharing as a part of Flannel Friday. You can learn more about Flannel Friday at http://flannelfridaystorytime.blogspot.com

5 little hedgehogs sitting on the floor, one fell asleep and then there were 4.
4 little hedgehogs, cute as can be, one rolled away and then there were 3.
3 little hedgehogs visited the zoo, one stayed with the bears and then there were 2.
2 little hedgehogs hungry for dinner. Race to finish. We have a winner!
1 lonely hedgehog wiggling his snout, “Where are my friends?” he began to pout.
(bring other hedgehogs back)
"Here we are, here we are, and don’t you worry. Let’s go outside hurry, hurry, hurry".
